As the oldest continuously active pipe band in the United States, the Holyoke Caledonian Pipe Band has been bringing the powerful, stirring sound of bagpipes and drums to events across western Massachusetts and beyond since 1909. From lively parades, weddings, and corporate events to memorials and funeral processions, our performances add a timeless blend of dignity, emotion, and celebration to any occasion.
Founded by Scottish immigrants from the Holyoke Caledonian Benefit Club, the band debuted in the 1910 Fourth of July parade wearing the Ramsay Tartan. Over the decades, our uniform evolved—first to the Gordon Tartan, and today to the Royal Stewart Tartan in full Highland dress.
